Traditional Counselling

A traditional counselling setting made up of a counsellor and client sitting together in a confidential space, seated a comfortable distance apart in comfortable chairs, facing one another.

What’s involved in traditional counselling?

The sessions are client led, meaning the client decides in terms of the topics discussed and pace of the work.

A good counsellor may invite a client to think about things differently, or offer an alternative perspective on the things being considered and discussed, but will always offer unconditional acceptance of the clients perspective on the material they bring.

Sessions are (unless otherwise previously agreed), on a weekly basis, one hour long and take on the same format each week.
